http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/PA_Mics_Vocals/Microphones/Condenser/sc1193/p740... A look at the MXL V67i dual capsule studio recording mic.
This sexy studio condenser mic from MXL is large, dual diaphragm version of their renowned V67G microphone. It is completely unique in it's design featuring two selectable diaphragms...it's like having two mics built into one. The front side of the V67i offers a lush, warm sound, whilst the microphone's back side simulates some of the brighter, more airy sounding vintage capsule characteristics of early tube mics of the 1960's. You can get a completely different sound from this single microphone, just by simply flipping a switch. The V67i requires 48v Phantom power.
The twin 25mm diaphrams are housed in a sturdy metal shell which is finished in an attractive green and gold. This "bling" look is complemented by a bright red LED which shines through the grill, indicating which capsule is energized. Other features of the MXL-V67i is a 0db to -6db switch and a balanced XLR output. The mic comes complete with a wooden storage box with plush lining. A great, versatile microphone, ideal for those needing several quality microphones but on a limited budget.
I bought one of these today. I have a Rode NTK... Brilliant! A Rode NT-1A... clinical but a very good mic. Two iSK TM-78s... beautiful inexpensive mellow warm tube mics; two Behringer C-1s... good solid instrument or drum mics with the same characteristics as the Rode NT-1A except for a higher noise floor and the need for higher gain _ so a noisy mic but you can't hear it in the mix. I have one Rode M2 hand-held condenser...and many others. I have a valve preamp which I will run this thru.

Video quality is so bad. Sounds like listening through a phone.
