From aclu.org/rendition: The ACLU filed a federal lawsuit against Jeppesen Dataplan, Inc., a subsidiary of Boeing Company, on behalf of three victims of the U.S. government's unlawful "extraordinary rendition" program. The lawsuit charges that Jeppesen knowingly provided direct flight services to the CIA that enabled the clandestine transportation of Binyam Mohamed, Abou Elkassim Britel and Ahmed Agiza to secret overseas locations where they were subjected to torture and other forms of cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment.

  • "an extraordinary rendition program is necessary for the extraordinary circumstances we live in today."

Ahh, just like Hitler needed the KZ camps due to the extraordinary circumstance of having Jews living in his country. He saw them as a threat to Germany.

Does the term "slippery slope" mean anything to you?

  • This whole thing makes me feel ill...it's wrong. These are good people that are stolen and treated less than cockroaches. How is this allowed to happen?

  • those who think this is all bush's doing are pretty ignorant, one the first thing Obama did was give the green light to continue the program. Wake up to the paradigm you've been presented, ask for real change.

  • Today my country, which is run by large corporations and not the people anymore, does many things I am ashamed of. The ACLU fights this but it is out gunned by all the power of the government.

  • good job, must have been difficult to get this information! Thank you.

  • charges. The attorney general makes those decisions, he and his subsidaries are responsible. Its sad to say that the president is just trying to gain support by unleasing the mess of crap that the CIA has done. But he is not willing to see it through.

  • Unfortunately the people who are in charge never get their share of what should come to them. There is to much protection, to many loop holes. Today the news released data that the federal system will not press charges on those directly responsible for tortue. We are up againt the core back bone of our criminal justice system when they will not press

  • According to published reports, Jeppesen had actual knowledge of the consequences of its activities. A former Jeppesen employee informed The New Yorker magazine that, at an internal corporate meeting, a senior Jeppesen official stated, "We do all of the extraordinary rendition flights - you know, the torture flights. Let's face it, some of these flights end up that way." (Jane Mayer, The New Yorker, Oct. 30, 2006.) ACLU

  • It is a shameful part of the USA Bush government and CIA in particular. We were on a way to achieve fascism if not Obama elected prez. I worked for the CIA and now I am deeply sorry I ever did.
