Australian Sydney R1 Class model tram has been successfully tested on my layout. The model was made from original WEICO metal cast kit, combined with Leopold Halling drive. Trolley poles are substituted by pantographs due to my layout overhead conditions. The central entrance was equipped by doors, cannibalized from Brill / Mack Railcar, because of Russian winter time:-))

  • a different take on a Sydney tram, I would like to see what you could do with a Melbourne one.

  • @glennofootscray Nice movies you have! The model R1 central doors can be taken off (it’s not glued); there is “anti-mosquito mesh” inside, made from the tea-sachet).

I have two different W6 models – WEICO and Chinese (same as you are motorizing in your tutorial movie). The first one is been motorized by Bowser bogies. The second one is not ready yet; I prefer to use the double-motor set, made by Leopold Halling. This weekend I can make photos and send you, is that OK?
