Unlike Livevideo, I have to bust up this longer one into parts to get it on youtube, how that sucks.

Well, about this series. Here I begin the long process of describing the approaching Technological Singularity. This is nothing to fear, nor will hiding up in the woods with firearms help you. This is an apparently inevitable process of evolution. Your open and inquisitive mind is your only vehicle to the future.

  • this is probably going to sound completely whacky, but rather than looking to technology to bring the goods, why can't we figure out a way to bring more of our own, vastly untapped brain into use? huh? huh???? WHY???? i'm really starting to hate men, because men are the leaders of all technology initiatives, and look at their fucking horrific visions. thanks for sharing the nightmare.

oh, why hasn't solar panel technology matured? why? why? why???

  • Oh, but it is! Solar panel production doubles every year, it won't be long for it to be a noticeable part of energy production. That humans only use part of our brains is fallacy, we just don't put them to good use... Men are leaders because even though the IQ curves are averaged at the same value, the standard distribution is much different between the sexes. Men have smarter and dumber individuals. Women have fewer outliers. Just the way it is.

  • you are so full of shit man... i believe in techno singularity but this is gay :)

  • See you on the other side.

  • Whoo-hoo for Singularity! It's the closest thing we Atheists get to a Second Coming.

And really, when you take the doting tones we use when talking about it, one might infer that that's what we're getting on about.

How does the law of diminishing returns affect exponential processor growth?

  • So far, we seem to be avoiding that. The computation capacity of matter is vast and we are still at the very beginning of exploiting it.

Funny, science actually has a non-zero probability of delivering the goods, whereas religion has failed.

    Interesting times, eh?

  • You didnt make me want to watch part two.

  • Technology is clearly passing the moral development of mankind. It's people with no compassion and large egos which will produce unimaginable suffering upon this Earth.

  • No time like the present.
