Did you know that black cats have the lowest adoption rate of any breed of cat?
Whether because of superstition, prejudice, or simply because they blend into the shadows in the back of the cage, black cats are statistically less likely to be adopted than more brightly colored felines.
Most adopters prefer the flashier, more colorful cats, such as orange and calico or the classic tabby and often overlook these regal & exotic beauties.
Yet the black cat is probably the gentlest of all breeds and the smartest.
Most of the black cats at our shelter have the most wonderful, and loving personalities, yet they almost always have to wait an extended period of time to find their forever home....all be cause if the colour of their fur!
If you are thinking of adopting, please consider adopting a black cat.
They have so much love to offer and ask for so little in return.
