The deportation of Acadians began in 1755, before the beginning of the war between France and England. Acadians were already British subjects since 1713. The last drawing represented governor Frontenac in Québec rejecting the demand to surrender from admiral Phips' envoy in 1690, not the negociations for the surrender of New France.

@flownet07 I agree with the point you raise regarding the chronology of Acadian deportation and will insert it earlier at some point.
As for the Frontenac painting, I am aware of what it represents, however, I am more concerned with just illustrating France surrendering forts and am less concerned with students identifying who is actually in the painting. Remember, this is a BRIEF overview.
