Later peoples changed the "Illyrian" region and meaning. An actual original Illyrian is a Greek. The name Alvanoi first appears in the region 150AD. If Alvanoi existed they were not actual original Illyrians. Alvanoi-Albanian continuity is not proven and Albanian origins are disputed. Epiros is not Illyrian.

Three principal Greek tribes in Epirus - Chaonians of northwestern Epiros, Molossians in centre and Thesprotians in the south. The Epiros Kingdom and League were naturally only Greek. Pyrrhos was a Greek general and king of the Greek tribe of Molossians, of the royal Greek Aeacid house. He was allies with Grks in Italia.
