  • Seriously there was so little attention given to Garak in the series. Maybe that's one reason why he was so interesting.

  • Great scene from a beautiful episode! <3

Not my Garak/Bashir favorite one, but one among the best about them nevertheless. ^__^

  • "Thank you for your concern Doctor, but I'd rather have ther hypospray." LMFAO

  • does anyone else hear the jealousy in Bashir's "and Quark can, is that it?"

    Season one episode 22. Symbiosis

    It's when Riker was beardless.

  • @toomanyaccounts What episode was it?

  • @toomanyaccounts

I was aware it was TNG. I didn't explain it further because of comment limits. The "illness" had been seen as the addiction, because when off the drug, they started suffering withdrawls. The illness had been cured, but the withdrawl was seen as the illness.

That was an episode of the next generation. The disease in the past existed but the drug cured it. The high class on the other planet saw the drug was in fact quite addictive and didn't tell the other planet's population that the drug wasn't necessary anymore. Instead they fed the other planet the drug in exchange for the tech and industry of the other planet allowing the high class planet to live a life of luxury.

  • @JimmySteller When they began showing him more his character went slightly down hill.

I really liked the Garak character on ST:DS9.

  • @ToasterPig Well, DS9 was awesome and too much Garak might have detracted from it.

Voyager was a weaker show with less interesting, already-explored characters. By the late seasons, did anyone really want to see an episode all about Tuvok? Or Paris? Or Kim, Neelix, or (god forbid) Chakotay? All shallow characters no one wanted more of.

The Doctor and Seven turned a weak show into a very entertaining one and over-using them was a good move.

  • @JimmySteller eh, if you give Garak too much attention the character would be overexposed and less interesting.

but I wouldn't have minded more scenes of him insulting and belittling people. the only one I've seen come close to his talent at insults would be Dr. House
