good luck making beats just keep reading the manuals. Don't follow any rules though unless the work over and over. People will tell you not to do certain things, like when and where you place your compression, eq, and effects. Just let your ears be the guide you will now when it sounds good. As long as it fits in the mix. That is what your looking for. If you can't afford good virtual instruments than start layering sounds, playing with pitches to make instrument voice mach and just have fun.
