I agree that some protein during the fast is a great idea if you can limit yourself to just a couple of tbsps a day. But according to teh American Council on Exercise (ACE & ACSM) you should get nearly 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day. I cannot imagine this, I know that the USA is very high compared to other nations recs on this too. But when you don't get any protein it is hard to keep lean muscle mass,and a good metabolsm.

You want to be sure your energy sources and protein sources are very PURE & ORGANIC, espcially during a fast. Otherwise you defeat the purpose and your body cannot detox properly. Most "diet" foods contain ingredients that are chemical in nature and toxic preservatives such as BHT as well (so domany makeups and lotions) and other thngs the body cannot break down so they get stored in tissue where its veyhardto break them down later.

Your body needs minerals and vitamin daily as well. For a short term fast this is not a big deal. But for fasting on just water longer than 5-7 days, you should look into a liquid vitamin and mineral replacement too. I am not sure that Sushi would count this though as a pure fast, and many who do pure water fasts feel its highly beneficial to go strictly on water,since the body can survive up weeks w/o food, but its going to deplete mineral and vitamin stores, this can lead to osteoporosis, etc

Soe protein and somefats are needed to break down fat and detox properly. Paul Bragg does not reommend that novice fasters go any longer than 3-5 days on just water. THis is pretty extreme - just water.
Also PELASE NOTE: I looked at the ingredients for SYNTRAX NECTAR and found that it contains: Acesulfame-K, and Sucralose. These are artificial sweeteners that cannot be broken down by the body, so they get stored as toxic waste. Remember that waste = weight.

and because ketosis is now switched off your blood sugar will fall real low which will make you very hungry. Protein doesn't trigger your body to release insulin so you'll stay in ketosis and not feel hungry. That's how these diets like Atkins and South Beach work so well.

Fasting is indeed very good for fighting illnesses. I had a cold, fasted for a couple of days and something that would of dragged out for at least a week if I'm lucky cleared right up. But fasting is dangerous for the heart muscle, so I usually have at least 40g of Whey (Or Soya) Protein ISOLATE like Syntrax Nectar.

Yes it is, cause when u fast ur body doesn't have to waste time digesting it can focus on getting you better.
