This is a rare live performance of the Great Arthur Smith playing his signiture song, Guitar Boogie at the Ovens Auditorium on April 20th, 1995 in Charlotte North Carolina.
Mr. Smith is a neat, neat guy.. got a chance to meet him in Charleston, SC about 12 years ago.. He was in a hurry to meet some other people, but took time to chat and was very gracious.
Have been a fan since Wayyy back! This is great stuff!
Thank you Moviemagg for sharing this. Watched him on channel 3 in Charlotte for most of my childhood. My neighbor, Carl Hunt , played banjo with the group. I too enjoyed the gospel music on the show, most of it written by Arthur Smith. I heard him comment once that the shows were done live and not many were taped so a clip of a old show is precious to have.
