    not really, because the light is more dispersed. skylights are more direct light. these bottle lights spread the light more.

    can i suggest the uses of led lights. it used 1/3-1/10 of the power for the same amount in luminousity. though its about 2 times the price in america than the round bulbs. led lights doesn't get nearly as hot as regular bulbs. so it may be alot more usefull when there is no sun or not enough sun

    no, its just water. chlorox is added to keep bacteria and mold from growing in the bottle. the water defracts the light so that it spread throughout the room. so it only works when there is sunlight.
