  • Evolution is one of the strongest Scientific Theories with so much evidence to back it up, and supported by all relevant branches of science.

It is only opposed by people for religious or spiritual reasons.

The world's largest Christian Church accepts it, as do others such as the Anglican.

Evolution is not atheism, and atheism is not evolution. Science is a-religious.

  • And assuming the truth of a text so that you can then take verses from it that prove its validity only if you believe its veracity in the first place isn't circular reasoning at all, mark.

  • 224 dislikes? WTF? Is this the creationist's corner?

  • God wills it that's the answer for everything =D

  • I cannot believe people are yawning and taking notes. The content is great! It isn't like anyone is going to test on Darwin's age.

  • I do think religion can act as a control mechanism, in that some people cannot behave without threats. Intrinsically, our animal instincts, and our move out of family and tribal groups have dictated that the pressures of life can produce base responses. We classify them as bad, but maybe they are normal. We are just animals after all. Even when we are chillin' ;-)

  • Pretty good just chillin lol, how about u? In my opinion i think anything can be twisted and manipulated, i mean people have even twisted science for their own uses. I think people will keep twisting things until they actually use comon sense. I think that comment may have been by weinman or wheeler. Freeman Dyson actually said that he agreed with that except that he would add one thing at the end: "and only religion can make bad people do good things" lol I think that was clever of him. peace:)

  • Hi man. How's it going? Unfortunately, religious beliefs do allow for extreme manipulation. It has been said- I can't remember by whom-that good people do good, and bad people do bad, but only religion makes good people do bad.

  • Ya it is really tough for religous people like me because we see something we love so much get used incorrectly. Many times religious people dont even mean bad, but due to ignorance cause problems. But maybe one day itll get better, we can only hope right???

  • I agree. Unfortunately religions then become the veil of respectability behind which the less desirable hide their own agendas. If religions were to actually preach their central tenets of love and tolerance then we would be in a lot less trouble. However, as religions had and have a huge political context, due to the power they hold, then I think we are still in for tough times ahead.

  • Oh dont swea tit dude i know u werent being personal. You were simply stating what some religous people do. Religious people many times do commit crimes in the name of religion but I believe they really only use it as an excuse. I have been to Saudi and in my opinion if Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) saw Saudi today he would completely disagree with their methods. I dont see how they can interpret religon so strictly. Tiss tiss...

  • I agree that education is important-100%. Unfortunately codes and rules are not just applied to people who are part of that religion. Abortion, same-sex marriage, Danish cartoonists- all secular activities attacked for religious reasons. Why do I have to be searched so thoroughly nowadays at the airport? Can I drink acohol in Saudi? NB Please note- I am not being personal to you or your religious beliefs:- )
