SCEPCOP Promo Version 3

http://www.debunkingskeptics.com

SCEPCOP is a coalition of Paranormal Researchers, Investigators, Writers and Parapsychologists who have united to counter and expose the Pseudo-Skeptical movement for their fallacies, dismissal, denial, censorship, suppression, misinformation, bigotry and ridicule toward any evidence, experience or science that challenges orthodoxy or does not fit into a materialistic reductionist paradigm. We do not support every quack claim on the planet, but advocate true skepticism, objectivity, open-mindedness and fairness toward paranormal and unorthodox evidence, experience and data. We are the world's first counter-pseudo-skeptic group, providing resources, articles, books, videos and an online community exposing the fallacies and psychology of pseudo-skepticism.

"There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isnt true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true." - Søren Kierkegaard, Danish philosopher

"People are not stupid. They believe things for reasons. The last way for skeptics to get the attention of bright, curious, intelligent people is to belittle or condescend or to show arrogance toward their beliefs." - Carl Sagan

"The suppression of uncomfortable ideas may be common in religion or in politics, but it is not the path to knowledge, and there's no place for it in the endeavor of science." - Carl Sagan

A "true skeptic" objectively inquires and seeks evidence, challenging all sides including their own beliefs (see here). But these pseudo-skeptics do anything but. As someone observed to me:

"The original definition of skeptic was a person who questions ALL beliefs, facts, and points-of-view. A healthy perspective in my opinion. Today's common definition of skeptic is someone who questions any belief that strays outside of the status quo, yet leaving the status quo itself completely unquestioned. Kind of a juvenile and intellectually lazy practice in my opinion."

Likewise, an insightful YouTuber eloquently hit the bull's eye with this comment:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vks49Bfn544
"What skeptics fail to understand is that skepticism involves being skeptical of your own position, it does not mean just being skeptical of that which you do not believe in, otherwise we are all skeptics and that renders their use of the term "skeptic" meaningless. A true skeptic casts skepticism on their own position as well. Since the Randi crowd do not employ skepticism in this respect then they are fairly termed pseudo skeptics and demean the term skepticism."

So you see, they have no objectivity toward evidence at all, only emotional fanaticism.

Just the fight against closed-minded fanaticism and bigotry. Visit SCEPCOP today!

  • You can't just magically "debunk" skepticism. If you claim to have supernatural powers, or that aliens built the pyramids, you have to show evidence to back up your claim.

How about if I told you I was building a machine based on alien technology that could turn water into gold. I just need some money to buy parts at Radio Shack. If you send me a hundred bucks, I'll send you back a million when my machine is built. Would you send me the money? Or would you find that you too are a skeptic?

  • RANDI DOES A GOOD JOB EXPOSING FAKES, THE GENUINE PSYCHICS ARE HAPPY ABOUT THIS, BECAUSE THEY TOO, HATE THE TRICKSTERS BUT SADLY, THEY ARE BEING TARRED WITH THE SAME SKEPTIC BRUSH.

THE PARANORMAL IS NOT AVAILABLE DEMAND. AND ANYWAY, RANDI WOULD ASSUME IT WAS JUST A CLEVER TRICK THAT HE WASN'T FAMILIAR WITH.

RANDI WOULD HAVE THROWN AWAY THE PENICILLIN JAR BECAUSE IT HAD "GONE OFF" IF I CRASHED MY PLANE IN A FIELD AND ASKED RANDI WHERE AM I ? HE'D SAY "YOU'RE SITTING IN A PLANE IN A FIELD"

  • @Z1Z121

    What?

  • you morons bellow me are retards. bye bye.

  • To give an insight into the fixed mind of Randi, I give this example.

I've crash landed my plane into a field and survived. I open the cockpit and see Randi looking at me.

I call out to him "Excuse me sir, where am I" He replies "You are sitting in an aircraft in a field" He's correct, but completely missing the point.

    Have a nice day.

  • Hello skeptics everywhere. I wish you all lots of abstract psychic phenomena that you'll dismiss and ridical as nonsense because you have no ESP or means of recognition. You would all burn somebody to death in the middle ages if they said that one day people would speak into a little box and be heard miles away or that doors will open as you approach them.

Old Randi would have thrown away the penicillin jar because the contents had gone off. He'll never "see the wood for the trees".

  • @lager1776: I agree, the Randi challenge is proof of absolutely nothing. Those who hold it up as if it were proof are hypocrites.

  • It's hypocrisy to dismiss everything that conflicts with physicialism because one man has a million dollar challenge. As a skeptic, I'm sure you dismiss anecdotes all the time. The person may be lying? Or the person may be mistaken? Why is Randi above this logic? For all you know, he could have an axe to grind and not intend to give the money to anybody. After all, if he so wishes nobody could pass the test, as he reserves the right to change the terms mid-test.

  • @lager1776 So you say, that paranormal phenomenons, mind readers etc are real?
