@alexeykh Yes, but he was a liberal Republican, who increased taxes dramatically. This is one of the factors that caused the Great Depression. FDR is given credit for ending the depression, but his socialist programs actually prolonged it until World War 2 finally ended it.

I am from Syria, and was told by the elders that Syrian STARVED after WW I, in which the invaders British-French and Americans confiscated Syrians food supply. prices sky rocketed and people STARVED as never before. after which they started immigration to the Americas . no Syrian buddy would leave his home land without this imposed starvation. you

i agree with all of you so far however when they mention the ww1 vets moving in on dc for there promised money they dont mention it was promised in in 1940 not 1932
