This tree is called Murungai in Tamil. Most probably, it is the root word. It might have evolved from Tamil root "Muri" which means breakable, as its stems are easily breakable. Otherwise, it would have originated from Tamil root called "Muru" meaning young or healthy, probably meaning that it keeps young and healthy, the people who eat it.
It enhances the sex life of an individual who eats it. It even looks like 'erected penis', which is a wonder.
It is a tropical plant.

Dear Agentstrike,
We never pay any $ for "this tree" which as u said "nature gives his goods for free".
We only pay the service fee to get "this tree". If we want to get it for free, we can plant our own Moringa tree and get free. But the time you spend to plant it and harvest it also cost $, so there is no free lunch on this planet.
In fact, every thing from God is FREE, but we only pay the service fee to secure it.

Don't know why people call Moringa a tropical tree .... moringas found in indian himalayas and here in Punjab in pakistan are cold hardy to -2 C and some claim that they can withstand a light snow and hardy to -3 .I can confirm that moringas can stand -1.1 C but for a night or two.

@agentstrike I'd rather buy my Moringa than try to grow it myself :) I buy it in a convenient package that I enjoy taking and easily mix into some water. Definitely worth the cost compared to growing it and making it consumable myself. That's how the economy works: supply and demand!

@wisikahn Moringa can't stand cold, I have grown it for 2 years, when hit by cold it dies down to the roots, and comes back from the roots the next year, at least here in Florida.
