  • this is amazingly awesome. in this video, do you use a plain dx7, or one of the dx7 iid's or whatnot... i am looking for a good fm synth from the dx line with the lowest price. thank you so much. also, i love how warm this sounds.

  • @SuperSpecialWorld I used an original, plain DX7. Brown case. I'm glad you like it! I should've paid more attention to the fact that the picture in the video isn't of an original DX7..oh well!

  • Great job! While all of the patches are superb, the pad is perfect.

  • @DX7Alex Thank you! It does sound kinda "big" and "warm" eh? Traits the analog lovers say the DX7 can't achieve. ;)

  • @tritonrecordings That it does! I don't listen to the analog snobs anymore. The DX7 is a gread pad machine, even when you play it dry.

  • @DX7Alex Definitely! I think I fattened it up with some chorus and some faint delay just to give a little more spaciousness.

  • Analogue purists ARE IDIOTS

  • Great.

  • Yes this is an AMAZING demo of the DX7s capabilities. Without sample based sounds like later synths. These are GENUINE synth sounds. Even the drum sounds are fab. A great job. That pad is gorgeous.

Another thing analogue purists forget is a synth like the Jupiter 8 wouldnt sound like it does without the CHORUS feature. Same with the Juno 106. They sound very ordinary once you take off the chorus.

  • Analogue purists dont know what a DX7 is capable of because they couldnt be bothered to learn how to program one. But if you invest the time you will realize what all the fuss is about this awesome synth. It can produce a stunning array of sounds including the classics its famous for. The DX BASS and CLAV are amazing sounds. I would own a DX7 just for them.

  • i have a dx7 mark 1 from 1983, ive got it from a musician who has been on tour around Norway with it in 80.2 :)) i have got some awesome nice sounds to it i will do some performance here at youtube later:))

  • I love the DX7! Nice music.
