Another beading tip from www.turquoise-stringbeads.com. This time we show an easy way to use an existing finished sterling silver chain and cut it apart to use in a necklace. Fast, easy and inexpensive. Saves dealing with findings, lobster claws, etc.

  • Yes, we cut the wire with a wire cutter because the chain links are actually soldered so one cannot just open a link. Hope this helps.

  • Lovely. I have a question. You said you "cut" a piece from the chain. Did you actually just cut it with, say, a wire cutter, or did you open links and remove part of the chain?
