MAC Metal-x Cream Eyeshadow ($20.00 for 0.08 oz.) may sound new to some, but it originally debuted way back in 2007. I kind of think the shades from the first launch were more fun--I still have Plum Electric (vibrant grape purple), though I don't think I used it but a couple of times, because it looks nearly new. Cyber, Fusion Gold, and Virgin Silver have been relaunched as part of this year's offerings.

  • The Vintage Coin looks like it had the most pigmentation...do you think that would be the best out of the batch to try?

  • @uskitin If that's the one you like best, then I think that's the best one to try!

  • Have you tried patting them over a powder eyeshadow just to get that shimmer?

  • I tried it today, and it didn't look very good and tended to flake off - one of the problems being these are a pain to apply with any sort of brush, because it's such a stiff texture, but if you use your fingers, you can't get a very precise or light-handed application.

  • I think MAC has seen its time in the spotlight. People need to realize how many other phenomenal brands are available, with superior quality and sometimes even lower prices. If more people would stop buying MAC just because of their name, they would be forced to up their quality & reduce their prices to be available to EVERYONE!

  • why repromote something that wasn't good or popular the first time, and even more, without changing?

  • Thanks so much for this. I don't feel so crazy now! LOL! I bought "Rusty" and I don't like it. It didn't wear well at all. It's going back to MAC!

  • bought rusted like two days ago. They definitely do crease even with a primer. Rusted works SOOOOOO NICE as a highlight especially if you have a darker complexion.

  • @SnapwingOnTheTube They'll never lower their prices drastically but they DEFINITELY need to make better products/collections.

  • I have Gilded Ash from the first collection. I got it at a MAC outlet store (so sad that I moved away because they're hard to find!), so I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it. To this day, I don't know how to use it! It's just sitting in my makeup drawer. It's a beautiful color. Too bad I have no idea how to apply it. So sad.

  • oh no. i purchased the venetian tarnish today. that was the only one i liked. the rest seemed wack. i am going to try it out no maybe i will just return it without trying it.

  • So basically--they suck.

  • @SnapwingOnTheTube because people buy so many limited edition things people forget about their permanent line. yeah, all the new collections are crap but the things that are permanent are still good.

  • @sxyredheadxx ROFL so funny! well, I hear that!
