I see a lot of comments about the apparall of the fire fighters. Protocol and occupational health and safety regulations clearly state that any firefighter regardless of rank or particular job must wear bunker gear and any personnel that are being exposed to smoke and fumes must wear breathing apparatus (SCBA). there are gases the are given off by combustion that are far more dangerous than CO, Phosgene being one. By what I am reading in the comments spelling is no anyones strong point.

Its things like that the get firefighters seriously injured .... CO poisoning, debris could fall on or blow back into there faces. Just a major risk if you ask me, take the time to properly gear up.

Good video just curious to know why none of your crew had proper PPE on? Especially your guy on the hoseline at the front of the house. An was a primary search done or is it common to stand in a doorway and ask if anyone is inside?!

These fire fighters are heroes.

@fireandhockey1 Don't you love it when someone sits at a keyboard and tells you how you should have fought a fire? Jeez, where do these guys come from.

Steven. Thanks for your "commet". I hope the West Side Fire Department issues you a white hockey helmet instead of a fire helmet. Maybe they could dispatch you in one of those yellow short buses with a siren on top. Then no one will judge you when you poo your pants and drool all over yourself.

Dear Steven,
You must be the fire chief of a preschool. Your spelling and grammar are that of a mildly retarded dog. Are you sure your name isn't Corky from the hit T.V. series "Life Goes On"?
All the firefighters in this video were returning from an all day condo fire when they stumbled on to this one which was a block away from the first fire, the engine wasnt even in service and most of the firefighters were being driven back to the hall in a 12 passenger van which was following the engine ,all they had was their gear which was piled wet and mismatched in the back of the van. Instead of rolling past, they desided to do what they could with what they had, which included lack of SCBA

I just saw this video. My first thought, which I shared with my crew was "Nice hustle stretching the lines. I also noted the open PPE, however your explanation says it all.
Nice short time from on-scene until you had water on the fire.
Overall opinion.... You guys did a good job and have nothing to apologize for.
Keep up the good work!
