I saw them a few months after this in Denver at the Rainbow Music Hall. The 200-300 people there were in for a treat....
I still remember Michael Stipe's unintelligible singing. He wrapped his voice around the songs until it became another guitar, all feedback and passion. Amazing.

Yes - they are all from athens, georgia. his curls are beauthtiful - currently he is completely bald but it is 24 years later - they are one of my favourite bands of all time - they are going on tour again to promote their new cd "Accelerate" which comes out April Fools Day.
