The Baha'i House of Worship - Wilmette, IL

On the shores of Lake Michigan, the awe-inspiring Baha'i House of Worship in Wilmette is one of only seven Baha'i temples in the world.

This 20-story temple, completed in 1953 and designed by French Canadian architect Louis Bourgeois, features a nine-sided dome and is surrounded by nine pillars featuring intricate carvings of symbols from the world's major religions in chronological order. Its interior features walls of exquisite lace-like ornamentation surrounding a sanctuary where guests all of faiths can pray and meditate. Visitors can also spend hours strolling the verdant grounds, which boast juniper trees, nine fountains, and two dozen varieties of flowers. The Bahai' House of Worship is open to all every day of the year.

Three core principles of Bahá'í teachings are often referred to simply as: the unity of God, the unity of religion, and the unity of mankind.

wanted to add that you guys must also respect this religion and his mesengers as much as you do to your religion messenger.

Baha'is should not be forbidden 'anywhere but temples' which is in your "Book of Laws." That's dumb. There are not enough temples and God-devotion should be encouraged in as many places as possible.

Also, why does the "greatest name" (that Arabic thingie) spell out the word "Evil" in English?

The building is amazing. I spent much time there on the grounds meditating when I lived in the North Shore. Personally, I do not trust the spiritual integrity of the IHJ leadership and if they should ever gain the world political power they aspire to control I suspect their actions will not be those of gentle peace, love, friendship, and fairness.

Really, saying all Baha'is are agents of Israel because Baha'u'llah was exiled there (nearly a century before the state of Israel even existed, mind you) is as ridiculous as saying Muhammad was an agent of Medinan Jews because He was exiled there, in fact moreso because Baha'u'llah was actually specifically ordered to be imprisoned there, rather than migrating as Muhammad did.
