This diaper looks particularly bulky because the lady put the cloth diaper OVER a disposable in order to demonstrate. :)

Looks so bulky on the tiny baby

@afnanaatsympatico yes, it is much better. Less diaper rash, saves up to $3000 (on just a single child), can be used on the next child, maintains its resale value (you can sell them when you are done having kids), no unsafe chemicals, and the child often potty trains much earlier.

@collegebound1989 you are wrong, cloth diapers are less likely to leak. Especially with the newer systems. My sister uses disposables and her daughter has blowouts and soaks her entire outfit.
-
@shaleenibeenie you should get a few of each kind and then test them when baby gets here. prefolds are the cheapest, but I would think all in ones and especially pocket diapers are the most convenient.

@diokaro too many chemicals in disposables. your mom should have used a real natural detergent or made her own. It's not difficult.

@hollybee43 yes, this style is the most time consuming in the sense of putting it on, but once you get used to it becomes 2nd nature. Research different cloth diapering options. There are so many including all in one's, pocket (with covers), etc. you will save about $2,000 a year and prevent horrible chemicals from coming into contact with a babies skin. If you have animals and decide to use disposables there is polyacrilade gel and other stuff that is extremely toxic and can kill them.

I'm so excited about using cloth!!! They're totally cute, no yucky chemicals on baby's skin, and they're gonna save me a bundle of money and over a ton of waste. Yay cloth!!

Look up how many chemicals disposable diapers are made of. Its alot and just think of all those harmful chemicals against your babys skin.
