  • What tape did this one come from if you don't mind me asking, I keep thinking the big blue warning will come up after this trailer plays (some CBS/FOX tapes had a warning at the end of the tape as well as the beginning.)

  • This is at the start of Nightmare City, and also at the end of Night of the Creeps. No blue warning screen follows the ones I've seen. I know some of the mid 1980s ones had an interpol warning scroll.

  • I have this on VHS :P

  • @SempiternalDamnation This seems like an excellent film.

  • @SempiternalDamnation True, which sucks for the consumer and I think they do it to make it more digestible to a wider audience. I don't think practical effects which are so convincing are welcomed anymore. These days, they want to have fun, not horror. I remember speaking with the director of Don't Go In The House, he said when it played with Friday The 13th. They cheered for Jason but people said his film was "Sick and misogynistic". Times haven't changed.

  • @SempiternalDamnation Personally I just thought the film was garbage all around save for a few photographic elements, not because of the violence but just because it wasn't as well made and it was so obvious on what it was trying to be. Beating the audience over the head with an obvious metaphor is never a good thing. It really didn't deserve the hype it got but for mainstream horror fans I guess it would be their "dirty little secret" type film.

  • @SempiternalDamnation It mostly would just go straight to DVD or bootlegs these days. I mean A Serbian Film made a huge fuss and that movie had nothing graphic in it at all so a film with a bulldozer decapitation, pissing on old ladies, both man on woman and man on man rape, incest, killing of homosexuals, raping of animals, ect ect wouldn't go over well with conservatives or liberals. If a suggested oral sex scene got Blue Valentine pretty much an X rating then it shows where the censors are at

  • @SempiternalDamnation By Today's Standards Island Of Death is still pretty offensive and politically incorrect and would never get a major release today.
