BBC News - Anwar Ibrahim wants free elections

Veteran Malaysian opposition politician Anwar Ibrahim was acquitted of sodomy charges after a case lasting two years.

Mr Anwar, a former deputy prime minister, said the charges were fabricated to discredit him.

Speaking to Impact from Mumbai - in his first BBC TV interview since his acquittal - he tells of his aspirations and hopes for change in the country.

PR hv achieved much more in 3 years than what BN has achieved in the 51 yrs it has governed most of the states. In Selangor when PR took over in 2008, thr was only RM400 mil in cash reserves but as of 2011 PR hv managed to increase this amount to RM1.2 bil which is 3 times more than BN’s 51 year in govt. In Penang, Also managed to rduce public sector debt by nearly 95%, from over RM600mil in 2008 to just RM35 in 2011. Now just imagine what can b achieved at d Federal level when PR win Putrajaya.

We will have to review some of the archaic-laws......but a we should not be seen to be punitive and consider the archaic-laws as relevan we need to riview them,

Archaic law yang ada kini ialah suka rela atau paksa rela...Liwat boleh di kenakan tindakan undang undang termasuk dlm undang undang Islam mahu pun penal code.

@tinaaziz1 Yes very true...they manage to increase their cash reserve, Have you check the state assets then. Y dont you sell your car and house..i bet, you bank account will glow with cash reserve.

Penang manage to reduce public sector debt by 95%?...huahahahahaha...the RM600 is being push to the people of Penang for 45 years lah!! Go and do some real readings!!
