This footage was filmed by a Fred Meyer customer, showing a number of small birds stuck to glue traps haphazardly tied around ceiling pipes. The birds, struggling frantically and visibly exhausted, only became more twisted and tangled as they tried to escape the glue. Many birds eventually died in the traps. Fred Meyers corporate headquarters denounced the use of the glue traps and insisted that they be replaced with humane alternatives. The company also enacted a nationwide ban on the use of glue traps in its stores.

  • PeTA is more concerned with being in front of cameras and making a scene than actually helping animals.

  • this is not funny why is he filming that. That birds neet te helped

  • hahahahaha

  • instead of standing there filming, why don't you alert the staff that this happening? Even if they already know that the birds are there, they won't care unless they think that the customers care! You could have filed a complaint for animal cruelty, but NO, you just sat there trying to make a point that wasn't going to get across to anyone. Take action, don't wait for others to do it for you!

  • '

that is why store dont want birds flys around inside the store ceiling and caca poops on the floor / on people heads

  • @Tygerlily179 This wasn't filmed by PETA, it was filmed by a customer. These were ceiling pipes, what did you want him to do?

  • @fishingtrick69 Perhaps you could tell us how inhumanely killing something is the answer to every pest control problem. I don't know what kind of monster would say that a minimal difference of effectiveness is worth slowly and painfully killing something. Ever heard of ethics or morals?

Shove your "effectiveness" bullshit up your arse. That'll be effective enough.

  • Winged rodents......Do you want your food sanitary and safe for consumption, or would you prefer it to have fecal material on it? Hopefully the store resolved the issue of entry for the birds so this didn't occur again. I can't think of another effective way of removing birds from such a cavernous space other then maybe a pellet gun which would have been more humane in my opinion.

Want to save millions of birds annually......keep your cats inside.

  • its very sad that this happens to innocent because of your idiocy i cant believe this this is what happens when your trying to be smart and hang it on a pole at mid air how would a rat even get up there your guys are such idiots >:P

  • I didn't realize after 30 sec of the video that those were sparrows... :((
