THE ORIGINAL SOUND WENT MISSING! =O ...so enjoy the awesome, sound effect-less Persona 3 and Mana Khemia final boss tracks instead.

I still need to modify/adjust/balance some stuff etc, but yeah... I just made this video in order to show a full battle from the Shads&Babes project - a fan game that mixes different anime and game characters as well as their worlds into a single universe. In this video, Rydia (FF4), Mio (ExE) and KOS-MOS (Xenosaga) are used.

And don't worry. Not all boss battles lasts as long as this one. This battle is against one of the optional bosses within the bonus dungeon "the Tower of Trials", so the average in-game boss doesn't take this much time to beat.

Also, my characters are maxed out in this video, which they normally wouldn't be against this guy. So I'm having an easier time than I should. =P

About the battle system:

I'm using Charlie Fleed's FFX-style battle system, with a few add-ons and a custom piece of script that allows the "Break" status to trigger when a character's SP reaches 0.

During break, all stats are dramatically reduced and defense becomes 0, making SP-reducing moves just as potentially dangerous as HP-reducing ones.

The skills/abilities as well as bosses are generally more strategical than in your average RPG. Each move has its uses, and the more powerful ones usually comes coupled with a certain "risk".

  • where did you get your enemy battlers??

  • @megamanzer1

The Demon - used a ripped sprite, then put it together as an animated battler myself.

The warrior - can't remember where I found it, but I've seen it posted on several sites.

  • Damn!!! Can u post the download for the script?

  • @KoolAidBoxTopper

The battlesystem I'm using is Charlie Fleed's FFX CBS. Since he's the one who made it, I'm not allowed to post it without his permission, but you can easily find it by just googling. The additional flashyness of the moves and such are all about battle animations, and the small details such as the break system are customizations that has been made afterwards and not any actual whole custom scripts. =P

  • @UltimaShadow 1 thing. If I do find it, do the sprites come with?

  • @KoolAidBoxTopper

Ah, no they won't. There are some sprites included, but not the ones used here I ripped all sprites except the undead swordsman myself and the battle animations are also either custom made or from some other site ( bubble-something ). If you want any specific ones, I suppose can upload them for you though/send them by e-mail etc. =P

  • how did you make those? Because every time i make my own, the battlers or characters is turning in small circle.. Do you have any idea why it became like that?

  • Awesome sprites!! I wish i could make them like that...but i just recently got into rpg maker... But i wish i could make my own sprites, that would be awesome!!

  • @UltimaShadow Ty, but its okay. I found a resource. I also found ur battle system. But this specific battle system doesn't work with the script that I'm using. Ty

  • @UltimaShadow Oh okay. But its okay now. I made an action battle script. But this one looks easier and handier. Thanks! I'll try to download it...if I find it. I guess all just get both. They are both awesome.
