Hornblower -- At Sea & On Land, This is my first proper video and it is a mixture of my interests. Hornblower, History, The 18th Century, Ships, Black Beauty and Classical Music.

So please enjoy and let your imagination tell a story through what you see and hear.

Images from www.Horations.org and www.twoevilmonks.org. Great sites to visit.

Hornblower truely belongs to A & E and Meridian, and the music to Warner Brothers.

  • Awesome video.....but , out of curiosity, where did you get the picture at 0:22? I love the music, it is altogether a very magical video.

  • Glad you liked the video, I found the picture on google and put the frame around it, then put it in the video. :-)

  • Hey, where'd you get the music. I know it's from Black Beauty - love the film, recognized it immediately - but do you have the album? and where'd you get it?

Great job on the video. I watched it twice.

  • A friend gave it to me, she had the album and she let me choose which tune I wanted. I wanted the whole lot but had to settle with this one. I hope to buy the album one day. :-) Thanks for your reply.

  • that music always makes me cry... wish they had it on itunes

  • You just got me into tears :,) Suchs a beatiful music and video, Thanks mate, Hornblower is my favortie TV series, even at im not from Britain.

  • It's been a while since I last saw this, but when I watched it just now, it totally took me elsewhere, like a lovely dream. The music, the slides, effects, the editing, absoltely perfect.

  • Thank you for the kind comments Sunstrobe... I spent 5 years in the US Air Force from Dec 71-Dec76. This was during the Vietnam War. I had the privilage to serve in a combat exercise in Florida once under the joint command of several officers including Squadron Leader Bass of the Royal Air Force. Britan has some very intelligent and capable leaders to this very day. These men never ask for respect, but conduct themselves in a manner that leaves no other option but to respect them.

  • from Cologne-Germany. I love both series, Horatio Hornblower and Richard Sharpe and his "Rifles"

In my Heart: Lord Hornblower, and the German submarine flotillas, wo then had to shout "morituri te sulutant" when they left harbour ...

    Kind regards!

  • the video is great!!!!

Ok I frome Germany and I read the books in another style but the books are very goot und the movies too

  • I do like the Hornblower series, I also like the Sharpe series. I served in the Royal Navy from Nov 1969 to Feb 1994. I worked in close contact with many Navies during my time, but may I say that the United States Navy have a place in my heart. God bless you all!

  • I love the ships and the characters in these movies, but the screenwriters massacred Forester's stories... anybody else bothered by this, or do you just like the movies for themselves? I guess I have to take them that way. 8) KVN

  • The music's beatiful, the shots you have chosen as well :)
