A Day on the Santa Barbara Sub: UP, Amtrak, Bridge Shots, and 457! 10-2-10

Went up to Santa Barbara today to get some action. The day turned out pretty nice. Got nice shots of the Starlights at Gaviota, a surprise Union Pacific, and 457 which I was hoping for. I got some nice honks from the engineers too! Also, I encountered what I think is the WORST horn I have ever heard! That sound that came from 113 almost made me puke! Just watch, listen and you will hear ;) Enjoy! Train description is listed below:

11:38am- Northbound Amtrak Pacific Surfliner #763 flies by the beach in Carpinteria CA with some nice horn from the engineer.

1:25pm- Northbound Coast Starlight #14 comes over the bridge at Gaviota with the worst K5LA I have ever heard!

3:01pm- Northbound Amtrak Pacific Surfliner #769 pulls into Santa Barbara station with an excellent K5LA!

3:05pm- Surfliner #769 departs with some excellent sound from that K5!

4:10pm- A southbound Union Pacific Autorack train sneaks up on me. I barely got the camera rolling in time as it flew by!

4:56pm- Southbound Amtrak Pacific Surfliner #792 crosses over the bridge at El Capitan State Beach.

8:02pm- I beat #796 to Camarillo to film it once more.

8:04pm- Surfliner #796 departs Camarillo CA.

@N330AA That would be Gaviota. Great shot for taking video and or pictures especially with the bridge seen off in the distance. Its around 15-20 miles north of Santa Barbara.
