  • I have a 1955 Belair 2 Dr hardtop . I have owned the car for 25 years. This video is so wonderful. I am able to see how my car was made. Wow thank you so much for posting this.

  • Wouldn't it be nice to have those dies now??

  • I remember my dad being a part of this America. Can someone tell me - was the 1977 Cultass body from Fisher plant 21?

  • A huge United Parcel Service shipping facility is located where the old Fisher Body plant use to be in suburban Chicago.

  • i actually live in Norwalk Ohio, where fisher wasa started, and this is cool!

  • Love it!

  • Thanks so much for posting this great footage. I'm restoring a 57 Chevy and it's great to see how much work went into these classics. Makes you appreciate the cars from the inside out.

  • Love it !

  • Thanks for putting this out there!!! Extraordinary video! Love the clay mock-up of the 1955 Pontiac starting at about 7:00 in. And to think they did this all without computers or calculators! Ride on Fisher Body! Back in the day, GM didn't worry about keeping up with the Joneses. GM was the Joneses.

  • Fascinating, how much work goes into the tooling the dies to make a car. Makes me want to go out and restore a 50s machine.

  • great vid
