I understand that snake heads are a dangerous invasive species, but who can tell me why all the turtles and koi fish, and carp need to die, as well? How can they even be considered invasive in a man made environment? One snakehead can't be a logical reason to kill everything else, especially when it is completely isolated from any connecting waterways. I could have caught it with a pitchfork, why couldn't they with a team of scientists and "conservation" workers? Why not tell the truth? Why was I alone in protesting? Look at ctv's coverage, and global's, too, for wednesday, June 6th 2012 in Vancouver, and see how the media can distort the facts and fail to even ask the basic questions a reporter should ask - who, what, where, when, and WHY - and even how. The spin they put on the story almost guarantees that the government will go ahead with their insane plans to kill everything in that wonderful pond/lake. Those innocent animals and fish were okay to be there for the last thirty five years. On a whim they decide to restock it after devastating that ecosystem with "native species". Just what is a native species to a man made lake, anyways? If you can make it to the park before Friday, they might have a chance. Please tell your friends. Please say no. You saw what one man can do. I will be there today and Friday. Wish me luck.
