Columbia Pictures' "Bicentennial Man (1999)" was originally intended as a short. However, director Chris Columbus saw an opportunity to extend the film an hr and a half in order to reach new audiences at the Box Office, instead of at a short film festival. So, he hired a team of writers in order to flesh out a deeper plot than this original clumsy robot short that was going to piss off a young, pretentious Sundance crowd.

I do not own the film or soundtrack presented in this YouTube clip. This is for the purpose of comedy, so don't even try to hit me with some copyright infringement B.S.

  • That saved me 2 hours and 10 minutes.

  • Wait - the story would have ended here? That would've been horrible!

  • What a terrible, horrible ending! Who's the genius who made this type of ending?!?!?!?!?! (being sarcastic here). I agree with SurferShan, this is probably just made up or fake, vice versa. Calm down now, it's only an idiot. ;-)

  • fake.

  • @1GSAletsplays =)))))))) indeed

  • "i hate you, go away" walks away and movie ends......shit

  • Ahaha, made me lol

  • hahahahaahahahah!!! this is fake! some user made video!

  • Wow... It was really gonna end here?! I'm lost for words. Because there are things I like about the film and things I don't that come after that. I like Galatea, namely. And I like seeing how Andrew develops into a human being because the story reminds me of my favorites- Pinocchio or Astro Boy (the anime/manga, of course). And on another topic, this movie introduced me to a very wonderful actor, Robin Williams.

  • your screwed

    Good for you.

But was it worth the saved 2hrs:10m to have missed all the rest of the real magic?

You'd say "certainly NOT," had you been able to appreciate those magical minutes for what they were...and for what they offered you.

Ah, well. An opportunity lost. Or...

...as the man said: You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink [it].

Maybe in your next life (or the the one after) you'll finally be receptive to what you saw here, in this film.
