Since the downturn, I have noticed something interesting. Those newly EBTed shoppers, who lost their white collared jobs DID buy plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, yogart( on sale) etc. I suspect that had some level of education beyond HS. The other shoppers that sadly fit the stereotype bought crap of every description. Therebeeds to be a class for those less informed as to how to eat healthy.

@Drahthaar422 I agree. I work at a grocery store & see the same faces come in every month on welfare day, the first things they buy are junk food, pop & cigarettes.

Healthy diets, my ass! You ever seen what people on food stamps buy? Look sometime. I used to work at Wal-Mart, and it amazed me that people who supposedly couldn't afford to buy food were so damn fat.

A thirteen percent increase does nothing! Even on the maximum amount of food stamps received which is currently 176.00 a month. That's only 13 dollars more and if you cannot get disability because they won't acknowledge your illness, your screwed!
