Changed my 20mtr dipole into a 40mtr dipole today, just showing the difference on receive between the Custcraft R7 Vertical and the Dipole up at 16 feet.
Dipole is tuned on 7.090mhz and works well on 40 and 15mtrs Ham bands.

  • They can make a hell of a racket at times, Damp evenings , windy days , and when there is a buildup of salt spray they can start to arc until it rains and the insulators get washed down.

  • Should've said "or directional".

  • Great vid Jason! That's what I like to see like in my vids unlike many others. Seems like the dipole is acting like NVIS and directional. The dipole isn't inverted and even looked more in the vid like the legs might slightly configured like a Vee Beam but probably not likely. Not enough angle. Wonder if you ground mount it with at least 8 radials what the difference would be.

  • There appears to be an incredible difference! I suppose your dipole is acting more NVIS like with its relatively low height bringing in lots of locals.

  • Surprised you dont get more electrical noise from those power lines. I get heaps here.
