As requested, here's my personal slice of health-care hell served up by the private insurance companies. I'd be for a single payer/public choice regardless, but this makes it personal.

I think it should be required reading before anyone goes spouting off about how the free market contains costs. Of course, I think my site should be required reading in general...

The holes in her heart went away on their own after a year or so, but it wiped us out financially and I had no choice left but to work for the state.

A dumb ass republican would of told u to ask your neighbor for money. Insurance companies are the good guys, the government is the bad guy, socialism communism, atheism, all the other isms.. Obama better step his game up. im losing faith in him.. change this crappy system

As the last commenter I live in a priviliged northern country and find the US health care debate mind boggeling...

PS: Could the current health care system be the reason why so many americans belive in god? It seems like only the rich people that can't pass thru the preverbial eye off a needle have health care.

thanks for sharing your story. I feel pretty fortunate to be a Canadian who never had to worry about ever seeing doctors or facing huge medical bills. The only thing i can say is that honest working Americans like you deserve better.
