Tinsley Cooling Towers Demolition (The Tinsley Two)

Sunday the 24th August 2008 sees the "Tinsley Two" raised to the ground.
Thousands of people from all over Yorkshire (and beyond) turned out in mass to witness the famous Tinsley cooling towers being demolished by controlled explosives at 03:00.
A section of one tower was to defy the blasters by refusing to go down with its brother!
R.I.P Tinsley Two.

Being a Barnsley lad I have a certain love for the two towers. I just happened to be in Benidorm (for 3 glorious weeks in August) when they were flattened and could not see the event. It is so sad. However, you have covered it so well, plus; the music is so pertinent (reminds me of the village next to me which has the Grimethorpe Pit Band). I salute you.

Hi johnphall - The music I used is from the movie "Brassed Off" - the soundtrack for this film was indeed performed by the Grimethorpe Colliery Brass Band. Yorkshire through and through!
