Me talking about the novel 'Inkheart' by the German writer Cornelia Funke. A very good read - the language is clearly geared towards young readers, but otherwise it works for anyone who likes a well-paced fantasy story. :-)

  • The list grows longer! Are you onto the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo bandwagon yet? Thanks, and happy spring!

  • @1zangelique Ooh, I've been on that bandwagon for like three years. :-) I will be doing videos on them, I think, because I'm rereading the series right now, as a matter of fact (and I pretty much never do rereads). Seen all the movies, and am slavishly watching the TV series on Swedish TV (halfway through already, bwaah ... !!). It may not be fantastic as literature, but it's pretty damn unputdownable. Have you read them??

  • If you want adult reading go to Closed Circle website and snag the free download

of Jane Fanchers Netwalkers (first book in the trilogy) .

It's designed to make you want to buy the other two and make you a fan of her

    writing.

I'm prejudiced though, Jane is a friend, has a good heart and a good mind and

a sense of humor, if you buy the other two all the money goes to her own

    pocket.

  • @tyrbolo Thanks for this tip, I'm interested - I've actually heard about Fancher before, I'm pretty sure, the name really rings a bell. Pretty sure I've heard some good things about her. I'll definitely be checking that out. Thanks for the tip!! :-)

  • Her last name is actually pronounced as 'Foon-ka'. cause it's a german name.

haha. don't worry. I thought I was the only one mispronouncing it all along. It's one of my favorite series btw.

  • how many calendar's do you have?

  • I just got book one from Amazon. Haven't started it yet--so many books to read!! I need more eyes!! (Funny what you said about "fantasy trilogies..." And that's what I'm writing! Though I don't catagorize and didn't plan it that way...)

  • Excellent...thanks.This reminds me of the Brothers Grimm.I love Germanic literature: Siegfried, all the Teutonic legends, the Rhine tales of yore.German poetry like Goethe and Schiller...sublime.Nietzsche and Schopenhauer are my favorite philosophers,I devour their complete works.Great job...thanks again.
