This is the first of 3 Michael Jackson megamixes Alan Coulthard lovingly crafted (you can really tell he was a fan with his attention to detail). The 12" that came out on Epic and subsequently got deleted is vastly overpriced these days. Especially considering DMC re-pressed the mix onto CD in 2009 and it's available on many bootleg albums. But still nice to have the original. :)

BTW, why was this the rip pitched down by half a semitone?

Hiya, thanks for the comment.

Adjusting the pitch slightly is the only way I have found so far of avoiding the YouTube scanners when uploading a song. Otherwise it gets blocked as copyright violation and cant be seen by anyone. Adjusting the pitch gets around this as the scanner doesnt recognise it. Unless there's another way around the copyright issue?

i have a copy of this on 12" white label bought it over 20 years ago and cost £150 back then.

I remember that well, there was only a limited number pressed and MJ himself blocked its release at the time.

The original start with "Thriller" and don't have the music "Burn the disco out". This Megamix DMC is re-edited from the original 1983.

Add a mix of another song or even and introduction for a few sconds, you can leave song intact scanner wont detect

I was a member of DMC and bought this album as it contained mixes from before I joined. They did a few others in different colour. I bought the red album and one other.

I have the original release on cassette Disco Mix Club - April 1983
