I believe I arrived here from Germany on a USAF C118 IN 1960 or perhaps a military air field close by...then a bus to the large city and night train south to London...I wish I'd taken fotos...nice to see this video so thanks

Also prestwick has lots of unusual visitors, Lots of USAF C130,s Military Fast Jets on refueling stop overs and Antonov AN124s to name but a few.

prestwick is now the busiest airport in the uk for carrying cargo planes. Its busier than gatwick and heathrow together.

Those were the days!!Prestwick was always a great airport to visit back in the 60's and 70's.
Good to see it making a comeback these days with increased scheduled and cargo/training flights.

It might be, a look at Prestwick Airport's own website shows a statistic that it carries more freight than all other Scottish Airports combined. They also claim to handle more B747 freighter flights than any other UK airport.
