Used to do this a lot back in the 80s. Crucially, if the air-fuel mix is at a certain critical ratio, the ignition can outstrip the strength of the bottle and burst it. Very loud and a bit scary. Had that happen with a gallon plastic oil container (in a kitchen) and my ears rang for an hour afterwards. And by the way, don't fanny about with those little bottles, 1.5 litre is the minimum.

ive done thiss lots of times i find that l.p.g gas works the best, and makes the most thrust.
