This video is courtesy of NASA, and Japan's Hinode's Solar Optical Telescope (SOT). It captures sunspot 930 (on 13 Dec, 2006) spewing a huge X3-class (largest of the three classes) solar flare. To date, this is one of the most detailed movies of a solar flare.
For perspective, 930 was about twice the size of earth. (look at this pic: http://spaceweather.com/swpod2006/13dec06/dodson1.jpg )
