Wonderful...thank you. Performed as it should be; from the heart and soul.
I've had the honour of many years on the guest list amongst other things and I can only say I and others have been blessed.
You've fed my heart and soul Roy...thank you. Gratitude beyond debt, love beyond passion.

Yes, Roy toured NZ 1985 or 86 he played in all the small venues and loved the South Island. I saw him in my hometown (Hamilton)
He played Hangman, one man R&R band, White man and others. After the concert I asked him if he ever met with Syd Barrett, he paused and said "Yes"
It was an excellent concert but I would really like to see him play somewhere like the Half Moon or a church hall in Malvern.
He is probably the most honest, real performer in the music biz. Hats of to him. - OM

Cheers - I used to play live a lot, but never did any Harper. No, I did do Judas Iscariot but I wouldn't dare attempt any of his long classics, apart from from the safety of my own nest. I should add that if I ever did decide to do Harper songs live, I wouldn't do them on a flamenco guitar!

:o) Thanks omni. I've been browsing your favourites - most interesting. Has Roy been out to NZ?

Good interpretation, Fergus! Just a pity you didn't finish the song - but it was good to hear someone else playing after 37 years of listening to Roy performing this brilliant song! I can just about manage a reasonable version of Tom Tiddler's Ground but always have reverred this particular song too much (and in some awe) to dare to perform it!

Thanks - you're right, I should finish it. Maybe I'll do the full song. I know what you mean about 'daring to perform' his songs. I used to do a few but never any of the epics. Oh, I did do I Hate The White Man a lot, but cut it short in case everyone left the pub! Some people just don't get it.

I've recently got together with another guitarist and we're putting together Tom Tiddler's Ground. Talking of Harper 'epics', I've never ever heard Roy perform 'The Lord's Prayer'. I'm thinking of putting this together as a project as well, simply because I know the first (poetical) part by heart! I also happen to believe the words are up there with anything by William Blake, T S Eliot or any other great poet!

Sounds great. I'd love to hear that - please let me know if you do. I've been listening to Valentine this sunny morning :)
