@hazelssister Of course they aren't. They're totally different kinds of singers, and the opera world can be thankful for both of them.
Anyway, what has that to do with anything? I'm not aware that Corelli sang this role ... which is just as well, because I never liked him in the French rep.

I understand you're dilemma, but, you're focusing on the wrong woman.
Study Delilah, not Denyce. Study Delilah's culture & her place in it, her dilemma at this moment, her ultimate decision, why she made it & the price she paid for it.
Preparation & back story are the keys to making the character your own.
My other favorite interpretation of this aria is Jessye Norman's.
Personal musical tastes aside, study her level of preparation.
