Athearn Big Boy 4005 4

Video no. 4 of my Athearn monster. In this video i have taken the advantage of the DC programming feature. By doing this i have change the chuff rate slightly, set up a new bell sound and best of all, a new whistle which doesnt sound like a factory whistle being hit by a hammer. Enjoy

How come this whistle is different from the others in this video?

I changed it. There is a really cool DC programming section in the manual where you can alter the chuff rate, change the whistle and change the bell by using a small hand held controler that operates these sounds. BTW i saw your "Big ones" video with the big boy and multiple challengers. Its really cool, and with classic sonic music, it just fits like a glove well done.

Cool. Personally i prefer it pristine and shiny. But a little weathering never hurt so why not? Oh and i hope you liked my video.

Wow, Athearn makes a really nice Big Boy.

I have a Rivarossi, noisy as h*** and somewhat weak due to the open frame motor, but still works and runs beautifully!

Yeah i got 4023 its not that strong and is quite quiet but it could be better
