Tithes, Offerings and Taxes: Giving to GOD for the sake of Tax Returns

This is my opinion on how NOT to give tithes and offerings in The Church.
The issue of the right way to give in the Church is one that cannot be over-emphasized. There are so many perspectives and opinions as to the right way to give or who to give to, but as a Christian, it is necessary that we back our positions and practices with the Word of God.

The video below is my position on a certain practice observed by many Congregations (Giving offerings and Tithing for the sake of one's tax returns) , which I do not think is healthy for Christians and their blessings/rewards as pertains to giving to GOD genuinely. Isn't it ironic that yearly, the most charitable donations are received within the months of Jan -- April, just in time to meet the Tax Returns filing deadline?
I will appreciate other points of view, so please express yourself freely, but back it up with the Scriptures. Thanks

Question: Where is it stated in scripture that we as Christians ought to give money to the Lord?

@jmcclellan54321 Thank you for your inquiry. Look these up in the Bible: Malachi 3:8-11, Prov 3:9-10, 11:25, 19:17, Matt 6:3-4, Lk 21: 1-4, 2Cor 9: 6-12. There are several references in The Bible about giving to the Lord, most common one being from Matt, When Jesus commanded the people to GIVE to GOD what belongs to HIM and to Caesar what belongs to him. I know a bunch of my people at my church who do the same thing.

I never really considered it anything but looking out for financial well-being.

Tihing is not LAW. It is different from law. It was instituted before the Law was given to Moses. The law just elaborates. Tithe belongs to God.Period.

This i believe is giving to God..As for tithes and offerings, there is more to it than Malachi 3:10... Read Nehemiah 10: 36-39 to understand those that bring tithes to the storehouse..Read Numbers 18: 21-29 to understand who should take tithes

If we are required to tithe based on Malachi 3:8-11, which is a reference to the law by Malachi (who was a priest, a prophet and scribe) writing 430 years before Christ, basing his comment on the law, why then do we not have to obey the rest of the law? All 630 statutes. Why just tithing? Jesus said "he who violates one part of the law, violates it all." You cannot just obey one law (one of the 630) and NOT the others. And tithing before the law does not prove that tithing is required after.

There is not one verse in the scriptures that teaches us Christians to tithe. Any church that collects tithe or offerings is not of God.Tithing is only for the Israelites in the time of the law in the land of Israel. Mal. 3:8 is for the Israelites not for Christians.
