The Piazza del Mercato of Greve in Chianti dates back during the middle ages. A beautiful main square in assymmetrc triangle shaped, enclosed by brickwork arcades and its 80 shops. Since the middle ages the main function is meeting point for commercial exchange favorited by its geografical position between the important connections of Greve Valley and the Arno Valley. On the Square is the Statue of Giovanni da Verrazzano a Navigator born at the homonymous castle nearby. He discovered the Hudson Bay where today is situated the city of New York. At the end of the square is the church of Santa Croce with the famous Trittico di Bicci di Lorenzo.

  • Thank you for posting. I spent three summers studying at the Daniel Ferro Vocal Program in Greve... I loved the town and the Agriturismo Casa Nova.

  • Grazie per questo video, è un paese che amo per alcuni momenti e spero di tornarci!
