@ZeroGal5 u do know that ncl is ownd by a malaysian company not by norway sorry but u gata know also cunard didn't turn ther ships into hotels they were boht and turned into hotels like the qm1 was boht by the city of long beach californa and turned into a hotel also white star (who changed ther name to star crusis and then was also boht out by a malaysian company) but white star did the same as ncl after a ship served a littil over 20 yrs it's sraped so no respect !

She was a 'dead ship' while being towed into port. The boiler explosion in Florida had severly damaged her engine room and killed several crew members. It would have cost millions to repair her and by 2005 Norway was 43-years-old. Norway served NCL well for 25-years and it was time to go as she could no longer compete w/modern cruise ships.

To see the SS Blue Lady not beached at Alang. Nice to see someone finally move it.
And where the heck did they come up with "SS Blue Lady"?

What is with the caps?

@WamsWarrior The NORWAY is the ex SS FRANCE wich was launched 1961 and finissed fitting up in 1964. The rebirth of SS FRANCE into SS NORWAY was in 1979 and the NORWAY made her maiden voyage from Bremerhaven to New York in 1980

It is a beautiful ship. Too bad ships have to be scrapped.
I like NCL and suppport them, except in this case. It was a terrible descision to scrap the Norway. I LOVE how Cunard turns their ships into hotels/museums, and for that I have alot of respect for that company. Yes, NCL is a great cruise line and I do love their ships, but they treat them like a pair of pants. Once the ships are worn out, they dispose of them. :(

This video has always made me cry because this is the Norway's cry for help, a cry that would go un answered.
