shattering song, melancholic, like the music style of early 80s, reminds me Frida's song " Threnody"

this song is shit

@FerBolanos1966 For Your Eyes Only written for the James Bond film of the same name but Blondie declined to do it cos the film producers wanted Blondie to perform the song that was written for the film by Conti, the one that we all know as performed by Sheena Easton

@MrTraherne-Chris Stein got noticeably ill in late 1980 and by 82 everyone thought he had AIDS it had gotten so bad. He had to take oxygen during their final tour. It had a profound effect on Debbie. Even before the illness really emerged you would read articles where he was always in bed. It's probably why they stopped touring after early 1980. That caused a lot of friction. Koo Koo was a gold record, very arty. If she wanted a commercial album she would have worked with Moroder.

thanks for posting this rarity

I think the weight issue was due to the band break up and Chris (Deb's boyfriend) at the time coming down with a rare illness that nearly killed him. I also heard drugs had a major part with the destruction of Blondie. All the band are still alive though to this day. Blondie are still together with a different line up but Deb, Chris & Clem are still in the band. They have a new album Panic Of Girls and are touring all over the world to sellout crowds in 2011. Check new video Mother, on the tube.

So I see Frank (Infante) was already out in the video, sign that the golden era was over, but still the best track of The Hunter album, along with For Your Eyes Only.

@RobotronZone Chris Stein was the one who really had it in for Frankie. Though of course I wasn't there, apparently Chris was very, very jealous ( due to insecurity?) of Frankie's hot guitar prowess and had issues over it (according to producer Mike Chapman, who had told Chris to get over it). Unlike Gary Valentine, who constantly vied for the spotlight and was fired because of it, Frankie was always content to be the guitarist on the side. Perhaps, there were personality conflicts as well.

@HarryPotter87 Yeah, I would just put it down to MTV as well as the 80's really kicking in by 1982.

Debbie looks great, but damn, she put on a lot of weight between 1981 and 1982. I wonder if Kookoo bombing had anything to do with it.
Great song from a hugely under-rated album, didn't even know that a promo had been made for this track. Debster is beyond perfection in this video. Shame it meant the end of an era.

Yes like the early X Offender and In The Flesh vids, made for Australian tv but used as promos. This was lined up for the proposed single release, but it got canned when the UK tour got cancelled

This was my favourite track from The Hunter - it's a TV performance though, they didn't even make a video for the album's second single - Warchild - things were all but over by this point.

Yes things were over, but at one point Chrysalis were going to put out English Boys and use this tv performance as the "video"
