  • Love c..o. e. also, this unreleased song is a gem, the vid is vert cool!!

  • I love C.O.E. & This video is gold. So well done & i never heard this song, love it!

  • I finally went out and did everything I could to get hold of this movie to watch it, and was blown away, but I KNOW I would've missed .... practically the entire artistic and existential narrative intent of the film if I had not seen this video first!

  • Fucking EPIC. This was always the COE song that had the most spiritual and deepest meaning for me. One time I asked Vaughn (singer) what the lyrics meant and he just said, "Of all our songs, thats the one you ask about? Come on man. It has the easiest to understand words. It just means what it says. It's obvious." I think putting it to Metropolis in this fashion is sheer fucking genius and properly interprets both works in a way not otherwise possible. Truly fucking epic.

  • there's a minute every hour/ i will stop and go away/ all of the people, they want to sell me/ a package of something to make them rich/ i work for fifty-nine minutes,/ to share one with you

all of the police/ have left a hole up in the atmosphere/ where all of the things that matter here/ will vaporize without a trace,/ and we will never seperate / the difference between every face/ the eyes always give you away

the eyes always give you away/ the eyes always give us away

  • What's weird is that you can't find the lyrics to this song online.

  • This band(COE) and this edit(Gaddis) is missed so dearly in our realm of the arts today.

I have been thoroughly inspired by these creatives.

To this day they are a driving force in my pursuit of intellectual entertainment, oratory and visual communication.

COE continues to melt my face off.

The eyes always give you away.

  • I grew up in dallas and without a doubt this was the best band that ever came out of the Big D. There are bands that made me feel bad because the normal person did not get it. faith No More was one of them and Course of Empire is the other. Complete and total genius. Suck it, you fucking morons.

  • Last weekend I saw "Metropolis" for the first time, and I have to say that this video is just a great interpretation of the movie as well as a great piecing together of scenes from the silent film as an interpretation of the song, so whether you're interested in the movie or the song you get a great video to watch here, and the song is very fitting for the movie.

  • Hey, thanks for uploading this video. It's a damn shame that they weren't able to secure the rights to Metropolis at a sane price. Gaddis did an outstanding job with this video!
