Brian Culbertson's BCXII Video Blog 5 (first song)

Four hours after Sheldon Reynolds arrived, we had a full song written with a demo track. Check this out as I play the beginning of the piano melody along with our initial track. Who knows what the final melody will sound like....stay tuned for the real 'tracking' sessions for this song and see how it develops into its final production. Will it be real drums, real bass, or a drum loop with synth bass? We'll probably add a real horn section but who really knows at this point. This is the very start of this song so it could go anywhere. Enjoy!! BC - UPDATE - the song is called "It's Time"

I just typed "Brian Culbertson" into YouTube the other day out of curiosity, since I've been a fan from the very first album, and I never expected to find a video blog from BC himself. I'm literally giddy listening/watching the making of this album!

When I get the (rare) chance to get into my own studio, it's moments of inspiration like this that are a priceless joy.

And that demo track is sensational (only 4 hours & done?? WOW).

I've got some serious catching up to do!! ;-D

I love the way you play the piano, Brian.. very inspirational. Can you explain what notes your left hand is playing? Are they octaves to the melody of the right? I'm a learner so would appreciate any info or tutorial.
